Vic Wilson
USGTF Level III Member
Gainesville, GA

Hi to Mark Harman and all others at the USGTF. Upon finishing the school and receiving Level III status, I returned to my home course, Jack Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River in Dahlonega, Georgia, and was immediately hired as Lead Certified Teaching Professional.

Previously, I was a ranger for almost three years and had recently retired from public school teaching. Dreams come true at Birch River and they sure did for me. Although I am still teaching part-time in a local school system, since June 2004 I am able to spend every afternoon and Saturdays at Birch River teaching and attempting to build a golf school.

I have around 20 students and the number continues to grow. I haven't really publicized the appointment to my golf teaching position because I still teach school part-time, but it is my next goal to completely retire from teaching school and devote my full time to the course.
I have developed and implemented the EAGLE program at Birch River. EAGLE is an acronym for Etiquette, Attitude, Grip, Lineation, and Enjoyment. It is a four-lesson or session course designed primarily for the youth but, I have adults involved as well. I have recently developed a spring quarter continuing education course through North Georgia College at their request, and am looking to build from that, also.

What a tremendous time I've had this summer. Truly, it's a dream come true and I can hardly wait to apply for Level IV certification. Mark was wonderful, and thank all of you for making my second career possible. I look forward to talking with you in the future. Thanks so much.
