Although pressed, Mark Harman of Ridgeland, South Carolina, rallied with a second-round 73 to edge out Kentuckian Jim Peters by one stroke at the USGTF Southeast Region Championship, held July 26-27. Harman sank a 2 1/2-foot putt on the final hole to seal the victory with a two-round total of 148. Rich Lively was third at 155, and Carlos de Barros took fourth with a score of 156. Bonus money for second-day honors was also won by Harman, Peters, Mike Stevens and Alice Brown, with Woody Hoover sinking a 33-foot putt to take home longest putt money. The tournament was conducted at GlenLakes Country Club in Weeki Wachee, Florida. The rolling terrain, not typical of a Florida course, provided plenty of challenge for the federation members who came from five states across the region. A great time was had by all, and many new friendships were established. By Mike Stevens, USGTF Southeast Region Director
