The second annual United States Professional Hickory Golf Championship will be held Monday, February 22, at Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club, Temple Terrace, Florida, just outside Tampa. In 1925, the best professional golfers in the United States competed for $5,000 at a golf tournament in Temple Terrace, Florida. It was one of the last great hickory golf events prior to the advent of steel shafts.  This tournament reprises that very event, complete with the same purse.   The entry fee is $100.  The Championship will consist of an 18-hole medal competition open to male and female golf professionals. Sets of hand-restored clubs and period balls will be available, supplied by the USPHGC to players without sets of their own.  Participants can receive their clubs the day before or the morning of the tournament and practice at the Terrace Hill Golf Course and Driving Range, about 1/2 mile east of Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club.   For more information and to enter the event, please visit www.USProHickory.com.
