The inaugural United States Match Play Championship will be held May 7-11, 2012, at Indian Hills Golf Course in Fort Pierce, Florida. The event is open to all professional and amateur golfers nationwide. The entry fee is $275 and the field will consist of the first 100 paid entries. First place will be $5,000, based on 100 paid entries. This national championship is unique in that it is the only match play tournament open to all golfers, not just amateurs. A full field of 100 players will compete in a 36-hole stroke play qualifier to determine who advances into the match play portion of the event. In the event fewer than 100 enter, the format and prize money will be adjusted accordingly, but in any event, all participants will be guaranteed two rounds of golf.
