The fifth annual USGTF Southeast Region Championship will be played Saturday and Sunday, August 18-19, at Wildwood Country Club (www.wildwoodresortfl.com) in Crawfordville, Florida, about 30 minutes south of Tallahassee.   The championship will once again be played in conjunction with the Wildwood Open, a longtime tournament on the Tallahassee competitive golf scene. USGTF participants will compete against non-USGTF players for prize money and overall Wildwood Open honors, but the low USGTF scorer will be named SE Region champion.   The entry fee is $175 for professionals and senior professionals (50 and over), and $125 for amateurs flighted by handicap index. You may enter by calling the USGTF National Office at 1-888-346-3290 or by sending a check or money order for the appropriate entry fee to the National Office. Those paying by credit or debit card will be charged an additional fee of $5. Please be sure to specify which division you are playing in. The entry deadline is Monday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. EDT.   Overnight accommodations are available at the Inn at Wildwood (www.innatwildwood.com), located on the property for $59 plus tax. Please call 800-878-1546 to make reservations. Be sure to mention you are with the USGTF and playing in the Wildwood Open.   Mark Harman and Carlos Debarros are the defending champions. While at the tournament, Mike Stevens, Southeast Director, will conduct a regional meeting on Saturday evening at one of the local restaurants in the area. Mike will also host a demonstration of Hickory Golf on the driving range after completion of first round play. Members will have a chance to hit balls with some relics of days gone by and learn about the history of our game.
