What can we say about Nelly Korda that hasn’t already been said? After a spectacular 2024, she failed to win in 2025 even though statistically she had a similar year. But in 2026, she is proving 2025 was a fluke as she has captured her second major of the year, this time the U.S. Women’s Open. Despite a slow start, the world’s #1 player was able to run down those above her and win for the fourth time this year. Korda is slated to be married soon, so unless family considerations slow her down, she appears to be continuously headed on her upward trajectory.

He wasn’t the fan favorite at Shinnecock Hills, but Wyndham Clark overcame a late charge by Scottie Scheffler and outlasted Sam Burns in winning his second U.S. Open title. A fantastic opening round of 64 proved to be the difference for Clark, who has become a true superstar in the game of golf. It was also later revealed that fans were heckling him for gambling purposes, according to the Washington Post, in addition to those who simply did not want to see him win. Yet, Clark was able to overcome not only the unruly crowd but also the stern test that is Shinnecock. The irony is these same fans will later be cheering him on later this year when he competes for the Team USA at the President’s Cup matches.
