Club Description

The Northeast Harbor Golf Club was established in 1895 on Mount Desert Island near the shores of the only fjord on the east coast of North America. The 18-hole inland course [5,602yards; slope 128; par 70] is defended and defined by its rough-and-ready nature that includes acutely pitched putting greens, elevation changes, granite outcroppings, 50-foot White Pines, and knee-high fescue.

The 300 plus summer members come to NEHGC from the world’s leading golf clubs. They come to play more relaxed, informal golf e.g. while pace of play is essential, dress codes are not; the course is unmarked [for that we rely on the definitions in the Rules of Golf]; scrambles are the preferred group competition each Friday; dogs are allowed; many walk; and skipping between open holes is a tolerated tradition. The clubhouse is small and rustic.

Position: Outside Operations

As a member of our Golf Shop Operations team at Northeast Harbor Golf Club this position will be involved in every aspect of the member relations and retail management of the Golf Shop. This position will report directly to the Head Golf Professional. This person will be an ambassador of the experience at Northeast and shall always act in the best interest of the club and its membership.

Schedule, Compensation and Benefits:

· Season: May 1st – October 15th

· Compensation: $14 per hour

· Playing and practicing privileges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Greet and welcome members and guests.

· Golf Shop retail.

· Golf Shop Cleanliness.

· Answering questions upon member requests, with the information provided.

· Valued member of the team

Duties and responsibilities will be discussed during the interview process.

Mount Desert, ME 04660: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
