Job Objective

The Golf and Life Skills Coach is a fun, rewarding, and impactful part-time position, contributing to the guidance and coaching of young people to build character, overcome challenges, and become responsible future citizens and committed, active golfers through the lessons and coaching philosophies of First Tee’s Life Skills Curriculum.

About the Position

The Golf and Life Skills Coach is a part-time employee of First Tee – Greater Seattle — a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization — and compensated by hourly wage on a biweekly basis. Employees are held to a high standard of conduct and desire for personal development, to coincide with First Tee’s Nine Core Values and Life Skills Experience. Responsibilities and leadership are shared by all coaches in a team environment, with the expectation of each individual to be commensurate with their level of experience and to develop each season. Work schedules are created seasonally and to match each employee’s availability.

Bonus:

o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

o Tournament and competitive playing experience.

o Professional golf instruction experience and credentials.

o Youth education, athletics and development experience (minimum two years).

As a youth service organization, we have protocols in place to ensure the safety of ourselves, youth, and their families. These are based primarily on the guidance from local government, including state, county, and city.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications
Required:

o Graduation or certificate from an accredited high school.

o Avid recreational player and student of the game of golf.

o Basic skills with and access to a mobile smart-phone device and Microsoft Office.

o Clean and demonstrated track record of character and performance:

o References include past employers and supervisors.

o Must fully clear a national background check (provided by chapter).
