Job Summary

The primary role of the Assistant Golf Professional is to provide customers and guests with excellent customer service in a courteous and cheerful manner. The secondary goal is to help ensure the smooth, orderly operation of the golf shop, checking in golfers for play in accordance with the goals and policies set forth by the Golf Division and Pebble Beach Company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Greet each guest in a polite a courteous manner.
Collect all golf fees.
Perform basic bookkeeping and cash register functions as they relate to the POS and SMS systems.
Responsible for being familiar with retail merchandise and assisting in sales.
Maintain knowledge of golf equipment and all other areas of golf.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area and ensuring the golf shop floor area is neat and presentable.
Enroll in the PBC Golf Academy training programs and give golf instruction as certified by the Golf Academy and the PGA.
Work towards PGA and/or LPGA membership.
Assist with the coordination of tournament groups.
Supervise outside staff as needed and requested.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and procedures.
Perform reasonable tasks and projects as assigned by the Head Pro/manager or Assistant managers.

Absolutely Required Skills

Excellent communication skills.
Weekend availability required.
Must be a member of the PGA or LPGA or an apprentice within the PGA/LPGA.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Basic cash register/handling experience.
Some previous golf course experience.
Desired Skills

Golf background preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
