Sports Illustrated golf writer Michael Bamberger’s latest effort is Men in Green, which chronicles his and pro golfer Mike Donald’s efforts to find out if golf was better “back in the day.” Bamberger and Donald set out on an adventure to talks to nine “living legends,” among them Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, and nine “secret legends.” Bamberger does a fantastic job of getting these legends to open up, and Palmer’s candidness is especially eye-opening. Bamberger also definitively settles the longstanding rules dispute between Palmer and Ken Venturi from the 1958 Masters.  USGTF professionals will enjoy this book immensely. Men in Green is published by Simon & Schuster and is available at amazon.com and various retail outlets.
