The Space Coast Pro Tour (SCPT) starts its 35+ two-day tournament schedule Oct. 21 and 22 at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla.  In addition to the three Men’s Divisions, the SCPT has added a Women’s Division. Any female professional golfer, regardless of age, who does not have exempt playing status on the LPGA Tour or Symetra Tour, may participate in the regular SCPT tournaments. SCPT tournaments will be hosted by some of the premier resorts and championship layouts throughout Central Florida. Each tournament winner is guaranteed a $5,000 first-place check (Open Division) and the top 30 percent of the field will receive a portion of the purse. Each event will also include a Skins Game along with hole-in-one cash prizes exceeding $10,000. Each tournament entry fee is $420. Male professional golfers can compete on the SCPT in the Open Division, the 47+ Senior Division, or the 60+ Legends Division. Amateurs with a men’s USGA handicap index of 3.0 or lower are also invited to compete on the SCPT. Male professionals who have exempt playing status on the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, or Web.com Tour may not play in regular SCPGT tournaments, but are invited to play in the SCPGT’s two Pro-Am events to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation. The original Space Coast Tour was played throughout the Sunshine State in the ‘70s and ‘80s.  Notable alumni such as PGA Tour champions Kenny Perry, Mark O’Meara, Paul Azinger, and Mark Calcavecchia made their initial mark on the SCPT. The SCPT is being structured to become one of the finest mini tours in the country. Space Coast Pro Tour players will receive significant discounts from host courses for practice rounds and facilities, as well as other discounts from SCPT’s sponsors, including lodging. All USGTF members are encouraged to learn more and register for the tournaments at SpaceCoastProTour.com.
