Home-course advantage proved to be just that at the 11th biennial World Golf Teachers Cup at Sun Island Resort Golf Club in Shanghai, China, as the host team romped to a 39-stroke victory over runner-up Team Canada October 16-17.  The team of Li Fang Yie, Guo Bin Yu, Zhi Xue Li, Wen Fang Shi, Chun Ji, and Juan-Juan Liu opened with a first-round total of 392 in the play-6 count-5 format, taking a 10-shot lead over Australia.  No one could keep pace the second day as China fired a 374 to finish with a two-day total of 766.  

The individual title was contested at 54 holes for the first time, and Japan’s Makoto Kitagawa gave his country its first World Cup champion, shooting 76-77-77 – 230.  Division B was won by Juan Juan Liu with scores of 74-78-70 – 222. Complete scores can be found at www.USGTF-China.com.
