USGTF Master Golf Teaching Professional George Claffey from Berlin, Connecticut, is the new director of the junior program at Timberlin Golf Course in Berlin, a spectacular municipally-owned facility. He also is the new golf coordinator for the city of Middletown, Connecticut. Claffey is not one to rest, as he continues in his roles as the head teaching professional at Miner Hills Golf Course in Middletown, and also as a lead instructor with The First Tee of Connecticut. Claffey’s passion for junior golf also extends overseas, as he regularly spends time in the Philippines mentoring one of that country’s top junior players, and has recently returned from Panama after giving some instruction there. Claffey was previously featured in a Member Profile for the USGTF e-newsletter, and the link can be found at http://newsletter.usgtf.com/past-articles/a-helping-hand-goes-a-long-way.
