Jack Frost National, named one of the top 20 public golf courses in the USA by Golf Magazine in 2006, will host the inaugural Northeast Region Golf Tournament Saturday, August 11. The course is in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, close to Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, and is easily accessible from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, and the rest of Pennsylvania. To view the golf course and get directions, go to www.JackFrostNational.com.   Players under 50 will compete from the advanced tees (6,741 yards), those 50 and over will play the members tees (6,297 yards), ages 70 and over will play from the forward tees (5,929 yards), and women will compete at 5,129 yards. The entry fee of $150 will be split half for green fees and half distributed for prize money.   The format will be a one-day medal play tournament. Tee times will start at 12:00 noon, which will give everyone enough time to drive up for play that morning. Should you want to play a practice round the day before and stay overnight, there are plenty of motels close by. Jack Frost National has three stay-and-play rates for those wanting to book a motel. They are Blakeslee Inn (570) 646-1100, Best Western (570) 646-6000, and the Holiday Inn Express (570) 443-2100. When calling, say you are playing at Jack Frost to get the reduced rate.   Checks should be made payable to Team Golf Liberty Division and received on or before August 3, 2012.
